Trenchless Equipment recently spoke to the City of Sunnyvale in California in order to assist a client who was replacing an Asbestos Concrete (AC) Pipe. The city said that if the client was to proceed by pipe bursting the line, then the city recommended using a snap cutter to remove the section of AC pipe in the exit and pipe entry pits. If the snap cutter would not work, the city recommended that the contractor should use water (Water hose) while cutting the pipe. Once the sections of pipe had been removed, the AC pipe should be double bagged and then the homeowner should call the city to pick up the bagged AC pipe.
